Spiced Pickles Recipe

Mustard, dry

Cider vinegar

Cinnamon

Salt

Cloves, whole

Directions

  1. Scald the pickles in boiling water.
  2. Drain.
  3. Mix together the cinnamon and cloves.
  4. Place a layer of pickles in a crock and sprinkle with the spice mixture; repeat until crock is filled.
  5. Combine the sugar, salt, mustard and vinegar and bring to a boil and cook about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour brine over the pickles, filling the crock. (More brine may be needed, depending on size of pickles).
  7. Cover crock and let stand in a cold place.
