Steamed Rice - Herb Chow Recipe

Rice, long grain
Warm water
Directions
- Place rice in medium size pot, add water to cover rice.
- Now with your hand swirl rice in pot to wash off the outer starch from the rice.
- Strain out water, add water again and rinse 3 to 4 times until the water is near clear.
- Add approximately 3/4 to 1 inch of warm water over the washed rice.
- Place lid on, place pot on stove at maximum heat, bring to boil, tip lid slightly so rice won't boil over.
- Cook rice approximately 5 to 6 minutes or until rice water is nearly dry.
- Lower heat to medium, cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Lower heat to low and cook.
- Total cooking time is 20 to 25 minutes. "Steamed rice is a must for nearly all Chinese dishes.
