Crispy Baked Onion Rings Recipe

Ingredients

Onions, large

Package cornflakes, crushed

Seasoned salt *

Sugar

Paprika

Egg substitute
Vegetable cooking spray

Directions

  1. Cut each onion into 4 thick slices; separate into rings, reserving small rings for other uses.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Combine cereal, salt, sugar, and paprika; divide in half, and set aside.
  4. Beat egg substitute at high speed with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  5. Dip half of onions rings in egg substitute; dredge in half of crumb mixture.
  6. Place in a single layer on baking sheets coated with cooking spray.
  7. Repeat procedute with remaining onion rings and crumb mixture.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until crisp; serve warm.
