Barbecued Tempeh Recipe

Tempeh, cut to small cubes

Green pepper, chopped

Tamari

Lemon juice

Molasses

Cider vinegar

Mustard powder

Directions

  1. Saute onions, garlic & spices till onions soften.
  2. Add peppers & tempeh chunks & continue to saute for 5 minutes or so.
  3. Transfer to a shallow baking pan.
  4. Whisk together the sauce ingredients (tamari, lemon juice, molasses, vinegar, mustard, paste & water).
  5. Add to the vegetables.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes at 350F for 30 minutes covered & then for 30 minutes uncovered.
  7. Stir frequently throughout.
  8. Serve on rice with coleslaw or stuff into pita.
