Sweet-Potato Tzimmes Recipe

Ingredients

Sweet potatoes, peeled and diced

Butternut squash, peeled and diced

Tart apples, peeled, cored and diced

Passover wine, sweet, red

Prunes, pitted and halved

Water

Sugar

Cinnamon, ground

Nutmeg, ground

Ginger, ground

Directions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix well to distribute the liquid evenly.
  3. Dump into a baking dish and seal the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and a lid.
  4. Bake 1 hour at 350 F.
  5. Cool.
  6. To serve, reheat, then empty into a serving dish.
  7. Don't serve it out of the pan you cooked it in (the movement into the serving dish squeezes juices out of the fruit).
